Collongues
Charming village of a hundred inhabitants, Collongues perches on a rocky spur.
His aging houses are grouped in a circle like a castle, as if they wanted to protect themselves from attackers from heaven and earth.
Its originality is felt when you venture into the heart of its sloping alleys that seem to lead nowhere.
Nevertheless, they will allow you to appreciate its architectural remains, including its castle, its medieval church and its vaulted porches.
Collongues is crossed by the river “le Riou”, whose wide green plain of Cressonnière, shaded by the surrounding mountains, is a fishermen’s paradise.
The essentials
Saint-Roch church
Built in the 13th century, the church of Saint Roch is the last surviving element of the battles that raged in the Middle Ages. A true witness of ancient times, the building dominates the village of Collongues and constitutes one of its greatest riches. Inside, two paintings restored in 1999 adorn the altars. The first, painted by Joseph Maunier de Draguignan in 1730, represents Saint Joseph, Saint Roch and Saint Honoré. The second represents the Crowned Virgin holding Jesus in her arms, surrounded by Saint John the Baptist and Saint Anne.
Saint-Roch oratory
Dedicated to Saint-Roch, patron saint of the commune, this oratory was built in 1500 during the great plague epidemic. Indeed, Saint-Roch has always been considered the great protector against this terrible disease.

The Peacock (gold with an azure-passing peacock on a sinople terrace) is the emblem of the city. He was ex officio to the municipality for failure to present his weapons on time and registered with the Armorial General of France in accordance with the edict of November 1696.
Since September 2018, a majestic sculpture made by Arch Regges, an artist from Nice with a Brazilian accent, welcomes residents and visitors at the entrance to the village.
