Pégomas
Pégomas was built in the 16th century, between the sea and the mountains, by Italian families who came armed with their expertise in growing aromatic and perfume plants.
Today, Pégomas is a village to be savored through the seasons. From January to March, the flowering mimosa trees will lift your heart and entrance your gaze. Travel along the “Route d’Or” or through the Tanneron hills to see landscapes literally covered with these emblematic, brilliant yellow blooms, contrasting with the blue-green of magnificent neighboring eucalyptus groves.
In May, along the Chemin de l’Hôpital, Centifolia roses will stimulate your senses; then, from August to November, the local “white gold” blooms – jasmine.
A number of rivers also meander through Pégomas, including the Siagne and the Mourachonne. From their banks, take time to watch the ducks, moorhens, and fish while you enjoy a gourmet meal or a simple family picnic. A relaxing getaway to the country.
