The Domaine de Manon is an agricultural estate on the outskirts of Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. Since the 1930s, our family has been growing perfume plants on this land, preserving and passing down centuries-old savoir-faire in a region where such plants thrive, developing matchless quality.
Four generations have worked this land, sharing their passion for this incomparable industry. The skills related to perfume-making in the Pays de Grasse have been on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2018.

Our ancestors passed down to us a love for the trade and respect for our land. Carole Biancalana works in this industry with dedication and fervor, benevolently watched over by her elders, while bringing her own special concerns to her efforts: cultivating the land while protecting the environment.

Come take a tour of the estate and learn about the extraordinary flowers that have brought Grasse and our profession such renown worldwide.

ROSE CENTIFOLIA
Often called the “May rose” after its blooming month, the Centifolia rose is one of the emblematic perfume flowers of the Pays de Grasse. The blooms are picked each morning, when they are at their most fragrant. The harvest continues for four to six weeks, from May into early June, depending on the amount of sunlight during the period. To preserve their freshness and fragrance, the flowers are taken daily to be processed to produce the essences used in Dior fragrances. The Centifolia rose, with its honeyed and peppery notes, is one of a kind.

Period: May, depending on flowering
Groups: by appointment
Private individuals: One tour only on Tuesdays at 9 a.m.

JASMINE GRANDIFLORUM
The hot and humid summers of the Pays de Grasse cause our jasmine to bloom each night from August to October. Each day, between dawn and noontime, thousands of starry blooms are then gathered, meticulously picked with delicate hand movements.
After being picked, to preserve their floral, sensual notes, these small, fragile flowers are immediately delivered to the processing site, to be turned into an absolute. Jasmine Grandiflorum from Grasse is one of the most precious materials in perfumery. Our harvest is reserved exclusively for the Dior company.

Period: August, September, mid-October depending on flowering
Groups: by appointment
Private individuals: One tour only on Tuesdays at 9 a.m.
