From January to March, the flowering mimosas will delight your eyes. The opportunity to travel the Route d’Or by walking on the Tanneron massif covered with this emblematic flower, but also magnificent eucalyptus crops…
In May, along the Hospital Road, it is the Centifolia rose, which will awaken your senses, before discovering from August to November, the local white Gold: Jasmine.
In Pégomas, there are also many rivers: the Siagne, the Mourachonne… Their banks are the ideal place to observe ducks, water hens and fish, for a gourmet stopover or a simple family picnic… Bucolic atmosphere guaranteed!
The essentials
Route du Mimosa
At kilometer 115, Pégomas, the penultimate stage, honors the mimosa every winter. Every year, the “Mimosa Ball” evening officially launches the opening of the season, inviting visitors to a dinner followed by a ball.
During this period, many hikes offer a remarkable visual and fragrant spectacle. Be sure to taste, and only at this time, the mimosette, a pastry specialty created in Pégomas
Saint-Pierre church
BWhile the church of Pégomas was built during the first Romanesque period as evidenced by the transept fragment, the only vestige of the time, the current building dates from the 18th century.
The church houses a painting dating from the Napoleonic era depicting Saint Peter healing a paralytic. There are also two 18th century statues in gilded polychrome wood: Saint-Pierre on one side, the Virgin Mary on the other.
Le chemin de l’Ecluse
This walk from Pégomas extends to Auribeau-sur-Siagne. It runs along the banks of the Siagne. To find the way, take the road to the Ecluse restaurant at the Pégomas stadium roundabout.
A true paradise of greenery, the banks abound with trees and flowers that make it an ideal corner for fishermen and families, with a playground and a picnic and relaxation area.
