Highlight #1 :
PLAY GOLF AT THE FOOT OF THE GRASSE HILLS
La Grande Bastide golf course
This location is praised by the true connoisseurs: A golf course steeped in the sweet scents of the region and surely one of the best-known on the Côte d´Azur. The Grande-Bastide golf course blends beautifully into its surroundings, with superb, panoramic views of Grasse, Opio, and the hilltop village of Châteauneuf de Grasse perched above the course. Designed by Cabell Robinson, a former associate of Robert Trent Jones, Sr., its broad fairways and greens, well-defended by numerous bunkers and water hazards, will thrill those who love a challenge. And the 18th hole has an extra adrenaline rush in store, with a green featuring a water hazard on one side and three bunkers on the other, all in front of the clubhouse terrace! You’re sure to enjoy a spectacular finish on this signature hole. This course will satisfy your golfing appetite, whatever your skill level.
Highlight #2 :
OLFACTORY WALK IN THE INTERNATIONAL PERFUME MUSEUM GARDENS
Want to experience a land of countless scents after your round of golf?
We believe in sharing our extraordinary discoveries and so we invite you to take a stroll steeped in the scents of spices, flowers, herbs, and citrus. Here at the International Perfume Museum (MIP) Gardens, the air smells sweeter than anywhere else. From the moment you enter the reception building, a symphony of scents sweeps you away. Touch, smell, listen, contemplate… these are the MIP gardener’s words of wisdom, reminding us that perfume was created by plants before it was made by humans!

Wear comfortable shoes. In summertime, bring a hat and drinking water.

Because the region’s summers can be quite hot and the gardens undergo regular maintenance, we recommend planning your walk toward the end of the day, starting around 5:00 p.m., to enjoy the coolness as dusk approaches.
Highlight #3 :
STROLL THROUGH THE VILLAGE OF MOUANS-SARTOUX
After your sweet-smelling garden walk, explore the fascinating village of Mouans-Sartoux. Once an agricultural center, it gradually opened to trade and crafts, expanding into a maze of charming, flower-festooned alleys and restaurant terraces shaded by plane trees, where you can quench your thirst with a cool drink. With its baroque church, “antique”-style fountain, and colorful facades, Mouans-Sartoux invites you to savor the moment as you linger along its tranquil streets.
Do you love old stone buildings? Then admire the rounded towers of the Mouans-Sartoux chateau. This marvelous 16th-century castle is listed as an historic monument and surrounded by beautiful, wooded grounds – one of the town’s jewels. What’s more, it’s home to an internationally renowned museum of contemporary art: L’Espace de l’Art Concret.
We can’t recommend it highly enough! Strolling through Mouans-Sartoux puts you back in touch with your senses in a uniquely bewitching world of sights, sounds, and scents.
Tip from the pro:
Audrey at the reception desk gave us plenty of ideas and we tried every single one. If you still have a little time, stretch out your trip to Mouans-Sartoux by spending the evening there. The village is bursting with renowned restaurants with friendly atmospheres and tasty traditions. On the terrace under the plane trees, in the village’s narrow streets, or in the pine forest just minutes from downtown, you can treat your taste buds while relishing matchless moments with family or friends.
Our recommendation for a restful visit: spend the night in the Pays de Grasse
The Pays de Grasse has a wide variety of accommodations, from five-star luxury hotels to family inns, as well as charmingly poetic bed & breakfasts and one-of-a-kind lodgings that guarantee an unforgettable experience. Ask our team for guidance on planning your stay using our LiveChat feature.
#Day 2 : Around Grasse... Valbonne
Highlight #4 :
STRIDE THE GREENS IN VALBONNE
"Opio-Valbonne golf course"
Just ten minutes from the City of Perfumes, the Opio-Valbonne golf course, designed by celebrated English architect Donald Harradine, is one of the French Riviera’s oldest golf courses.
Sheltered from the wind, the 18-hole course is subtly hilly and dotted with venerable, hundred-year-old trees. In a pleasantly historic surprise, a Gallo-Roman aqueduct lies near the 10th hole and the signature hole, No. 18, is a magnificent par-3 overlooking the restaurant terrace.
This course is unquestionably one of the jewels of the Riviera. You will have a great time, like we did, walking the fairways in the middle of a splendid, protected property spanning more than 540 acres. But we’ll give you fair warning: The course involves more technique than length, requiring more precision than power. Take the time to experience its magic – you’ll fall in love with it, just like we did!
Tip from the pro:
Because you might have an appetite before or after your golf game, we recommend enjoying lunch on the restaurant terrace. As the tables face the 18th hole and the teeing area for the 10th hole, you’ll have a front-row seat for watching the players on the course.
Also located near the course is the four-star hotel of the Château de la Bégude golf course, combining charm and comfort in a country mansion with an 18th-century sheepfold. A place of bucolic peace and serenity.
