The essentials
In Escragnolles, we walk in the steps of History. 15 minutes from the hamlet of Colette, the Saint-Martin chapel can be reached on foot by the authentic Napoleon Route, the one followed by the emperor himself on March 2, 1815. This path, remarkably well preserved, is bordered by imposing pines and plants of Provence such as thyme and rosemary. Probably built in the 16th century, the chapel still erects its walls at the foot of the promontory of Saint-Martin.
For lovers of large spaces, the Napoleon route can also be traveled on horseback, for another way of experiencing this path full of history.
