Pégomas
In the 16th century, between the sea and the mountains, Italian families built Pégomas and brought all their know-how in the cultivation of aromatic and perfumed plants. Today, the village is discovered over the seasons.
From January to March, mimosas in bloom delight the eyes. This is an opportunity to travel the Route d’Or on the Tanneron massif, covered with this emblematic flower, but also with magnificent eucalyptus crops. In May, along the Path to the Hospital, the Centifolia rose awakens the senses, before the jasmine, the local “white gold”, takes over from August to November.
Many rivers also wind through Pégomas, such as the Siagne and the Mourachonne. Their banks are the ideal place to observe ducks, waterhens and fish, for a gourmet stop or a simple family picnic, in a guaranteed bucolic atmosphere.
Every Thursday, the village comes alive with its market on Place du Logis, where you can find food and clothing.

The essentials
In Pégomas, we let ourselves be guided by mimosa, stones and water. At kilometer 115 of the Route du Mimosa, the penultimate stage of the route, the village honors its emblematic flower every winter. The evening of the “Bal du mimosa”, with dinner and ball, officially opens the season. Many hikes then offer a remarkable visual and fragrant spectacle, and it is also the only time of year to taste mimosette, a pastry specialty born in Pégomas.
In the heart of the village, the church of Saint-Pierre keeps track of the early Romanesque period with a fragment of transept, the only vestige of that era, while the current building dates from the 18th century. It houses a painting from the Napoleonic era depicting Saint Peter healing a paralytic, as well as two 18th century statues in gilded polychrome wood: Saint Peter on one side, the Virgin Mary on the other.
For a walk in the fresh air, the Ecluse path runs along the banks of the Siagne, from Pégomas to Auribeau-sur-Siagne. It is reached by the road to the restaurant de l’Écluse, at the roundabout of the stadium. A true green paradise, its banks abound with trees and flowers, and are suitable for both fishermen and families, thanks to a playground and a picnic and relaxation area.
Flowers, heritage and river: in Pégomas, each season has its charm.
